Join Us Join UsΔ Updates Position InformationPersonal InformationPosition & AvailabilityLicensing & Driving RecordSignature Position Summary: A Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver is responsible for safely transporting clients to and from medical appointments, treatment centers, therapy sessions, pharmacies, and other healthcare-related destinations. Unlike emergency transport services, NEMT drivers provide scheduled, non-urgent rides to passengers who may require extra assistance, including wheelchair or Traversa Chair-bound individuals. Key Responsibilities: Transport clients safely and on time to scheduled appointments. Provide courteous, respectful, and professional assistance to all passengers. Assist passengers entering and exiting the vehicle, especially those with mobility challenges. Operate specialized vehicles (e.g., wheelchair vans, Traversa Chair vans) in compliance with company and state regulations. Maintain a clean, sanitized, and well-functioning vehicle. Complete required documentation such as mileage logs, trip reports, and incident reports. Communicate promptly with dispatch and management regarding trip status, delays, or client concerns. Adhere to all traffic laws, safety guidelines, and HIPAA privacy regulations. Qualifications: Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record. High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Ability to pass a background check. Must pass pre-employment drug screening (including marijuana, regardless of state law). Subject to random and post-accident DOT drug and alcohol testing.* Prior experience in transportation, caregiving, or customer service is a plus. Familiarity with GPS navigation and mobile dispatch apps. Essential Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Compassionate, patient, and dependable. Physically capable of assisting passengers and handling wheelchairs/Traversa Chair equipment. Strong sense of direction and punctuality. Working Conditions: May involve early morning, evening, weekend, or holiday shifts. Work is performed inside a vehicle and outdoors, in varying weather conditions.
